Happy Birthday, Sandi-San

My favorite quote of the night:

"Don't mind him, you couldn't hear because the dick fan was going."

Steak and BJ Day

Good thing this isn't tomorrow, since AmigaBoy is currently on a plane to London for work (that lucky bastard). Hopefully he'll be in town in a month to bask in the glow of a butter-fried steak and I'll leave the rest to your imagination. I'll go mark the calendar now.

Luddite Central

Last week our Sales Manager called each of us and made sure we had secure passwords for our work email. Seems as if one of the reps used his email (all of our emails run something like firstname@winesalescompany.com) as a login to a site and some spam bot got ahold of his email. Then a program assaulted the server trying out passwords. I doubt it had to try very hard as the password was his first name. It then proceeded to send out 7,000 emails phishing for credit card information.

The worst part is that one other sales rep had their name as their password. Better yet, the guy who used "password." It is kinda cute and kinda scary. This was because when they were given their email, these people didn't change their password. How is this possible in this day and age? I am not the most technical person you will ever meet, nor the least. I do, however, know to change the default password of any computer...um, ok, ALMOST any computer or email. This shit is in the news all the time.

How are they missing it?

Evil, Part II

iCards-1.jpg

Thanks, LilBit!

Yesterday, in the aftermath of my birthday I didn't feel evil but I certainly felt 100 years old. 100 years old with a bad headache. Suprise birthday parties at dive bars with $3.50 Maker's Mark can do that to an evil, 100 year-old.

Tuesday morning it only took me four trips to the bedroom to remember that I went in there for slippers. I showed wine all day and I couldn't even bear to smell it for the first couple hours. I intend to rally tonight for weekly trivia, though.

Amusing

You might think it a bit egocentric to keep publishing iCards that have been sent to me for my birthday. If you do, we clearly can't be friends. We can only be friends if you think I am both egocentric AND evil.

Plus, this one is SO funny. It is what my little, black kitty is going to look like later tonight. That is, after she eats the big, fat tabby.

The Backside

It is foggy and cold this morning of my 36th birthday and I find myself out of bed a little earlier than usual. Remind me again why I decided to go to breakfast with my sister way the heck out in Egypt? Oh well it doesn't matter, all that matters is that I am no longer 35 (hallelujah!). The upside of my 30s was pretty darn good to me, let's see what this backside has to offer. So far it has breakfast, lunch and dinner covered by friends and family.

thanks, D!
